Terms of Use & Service Terms
Take It Easy Bookkeeping
Effective Date: October 25, 2026
Welcome to Take It Easy Bookkeeping! These Terms of Use and Service Terms explain the conditions for using our website, purchasing our digital products, and engaging our bookkeeping services.
By accessing our website, purchasing a product, or engaging our services, you agree to the terms applicable to that activity.
In these terms, “Take It Easy Bookkeeping,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to Take It Easy Bookkeeping. “You” and “your” refer to website visitors, customers, and clients.
1. Our Services
Take It Easy Bookkeeping provides bookkeeping and financial organization services to small businesses, including service-based business owners, creatives, coaches, consultants, designers, wellness professionals, and real estate professionals.
Our services may include:
- Monthly or quarterly bookkeeping.
- Bookkeeping cleanup and catch-up services.
- Accounting software setup and support.
- Financial reporting and explanations of financial results.
- DIY bookkeeping templates, guides, and educational resources.
The specific services, deliverables, fees, and timelines for a bookkeeping client will be outlined in a separate proposal, service agreement, or engagement letter when applicable.
Your signed engagement agreement takes precedence over these general website terms if the two documents conflict regarding your bookkeeping engagement.
2. No Tax Preparation or Legal Services
Take It Easy Bookkeeping provides bookkeeping services and financial reporting support. Unless expressly agreed to in writing, our services do not include preparation or filing of income tax returns, legal advice, investment advice, or other professional services outside the agreed scope of work.
We may help you understand your financial reports, organize records for your tax preparer, and identify questions to discuss with a qualified tax or legal professional.
You are responsible for consulting the appropriate professional regarding tax filings, tax elections, legal obligations, and other matters outside the scope of our engagement.
3. Client Responsibilities
To provide accurate and timely bookkeeping services, clients agree to:
- Provide complete, accurate, and timely financial records, receipts, invoices, statements, and other requested documentation.
- Provide the necessary access to accounting software, financial accounts, and other relevant systems.
- Review financial reports and notify us promptly of errors, omissions, or concerns.
- Communicate changes in business operations, accounts, payroll, ownership, or other circumstances that may affect bookkeeping.
- Maintain responsibility for business decisions, financial transactions, tax filings, and compliance with applicable laws.
- Maintain appropriate security for their own accounts and promptly notify us of suspected unauthorized access.
- Respond to questions and information requests within a reasonable timeframe.
Delays in receiving records, responses, or account access may delay completion of the bookkeeping work or delivery of reports.
We rely on information provided by clients and are not responsible for inaccuracies caused by incomplete, inaccurate, misleading, or untimely information supplied to us.
4. Scope of Work and Deliverables
Our work is limited to the services described in your proposal or engagement agreement.
Requests outside the agreed scope, including additional cleanup work, historical bookkeeping, additional accounts, or services not originally included, may require a revised proposal and additional fees.
We will communicate material changes to the scope of work and obtain agreement where appropriate before proceeding with additional billable work.
Bookkeeping reports reflect the financial information available and processed as of the reporting date. Corrections, missing records, subsequent transactions, or changes in information may affect previously delivered reports.
5. Fees and Payment Terms
Fees will be communicated in your proposal, invoice, product listing, or engagement agreement.
One-time setup and cleanup fees
Any one-time setup, onboarding, or catch-up fees will be invoiced according to the payment schedule in your proposal or engagement agreement. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, payment for one-time setup and catch-up services is due before the onboarding call.
Ongoing monthly bookkeeping
Monthly bookkeeping fees are due on the first day of the month for that month's bookkeeping services, unless your agreement states otherwise.
Our standard delivery target is to provide the prior month's completed bookkeeping and financial reports by the 15th of the following month, provided that we receive the necessary records, access, and responses in a timely manner.
For example, October bookkeeping fees are due October 1, and October financial reports are targeted for delivery by November 15.
Late or missed payments
If payment is overdue, we may provide written notice and, where permitted by law and your agreement, pause work until the outstanding balance is resolved. A pause in services may affect delivery dates.
Any late fees, interest, or collection costs will be charged only when authorized by the applicable agreement and permitted by law.
Clients remain responsible for fees for services already performed and approved expenses incurred.
6. Cancellation and Termination of Services
The cancellation terms for ongoing bookkeeping services will be outlined in your engagement agreement.
If you wish to end your bookkeeping engagement, you must provide notice in accordance with that agreement. You remain responsible for outstanding fees for work performed through the effective termination date and any other amounts owed under your agreement.
We may terminate or suspend services in accordance with the engagement agreement, including when payment remains outstanding, required information is repeatedly withheld, or continuing the engagement becomes impractical or inappropriate.
Upon termination, we will coordinate the handling of client records and any agreed-upon transition assistance. Additional work, historical corrections, or transition services may incur additional fees if agreed upon.
Nothing in these terms requires either party to continue an engagement where termination is otherwise permitted by the applicable agreement or law.
7. Digital Products and Educational Resources
Take It Easy Bookkeeping may offer digital products, including bookkeeping trackers, spreadsheets, templates, business planning resources, and educational guides.
When purchasing a digital product, you agree that:
- You will provide accurate purchase information.
- You will use the product for lawful purposes.
- You understand that digital products are educational tools and may need to be adapted to your business.
- You are responsible for reviewing the product's instructions and determining whether it meets your needs.
Unless expressly stated in a product listing or required by law, digital products are provided on an as-is basis and without a guarantee that they will be suitable for every business, accounting system, or individual circumstance.
Digital product refunds: Due to the nature of downloadable products, sales may be final unless a refund is expressly offered in the product listing or required by applicable law. Please contact us if you experience a technical issue or cannot access a purchased product.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability that cannot legally be waived or limited.
Any additional limitations of liability, exclusions, or remedies applicable to a bookkeeping engagement should be addressed in the signed engagement agreement and reviewed for enforceability under applicable law.
13. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to be responsible for claims, losses, or expenses arising from your unlawful use of our website or digital products, your infringement of another party's rights, or your material breach of these terms.
This provision does not require you to indemnify us for our own negligence, misconduct, or other liability where such an obligation would be prohibited by law.
14. Website Availability and Acceptable Use
We make reasonable efforts to keep our website and digital resources accessible, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or error-free operation.
